In this hour, we discuss Mickey’s weight loss, our friend djgra(e)y who just went Vegan, and our standard manly segments. Please ignore anything I say in this hour re: Roman Candles. Yech!

I spent so much time whining about doe-eyed beef that I feel sorta dumb, sitting here eating beef lo mein. God, is it delicious. Silken noodle strands, cascading in a curtain of carbocity over tender, massive morsels of well crisped carne. Yum yum yum.

This is me, and I am a pig. And that is why we of SomaCow are doing The Cure for the Run. With what we smoke, ingest, imbibe, and avoid (exercise), we know we cannot run a 5k.

Even a 0.5k sounds lengthy. I mean, that’s like a half of a half of a mile.

But a 0.05k? We are DOWN for that.

There is a website with all the info at http://curefortherun.com

There is a facebook group event where you can find other participants.

There is very little time remaining. Get your forms, let us know you are coming, and start bugging your family, friends, coworkers, passers-by, and anyone you encounter to either come, or sponsor your run. If you can find 10 people to sponsor you 10 cents a meter, that’s 50 dollars raised for Rock for Hunger right there!

It’s a worthy cause, and if you participate, Wall Street’s WaiTiki Lounge will give you a free drink (3-olives vodka style!)

Thank you for all your help, and please email me geoff@somacow.com with any questions.

Geoff, here is a link to my favorite brussels sprout recipe! I hope you try it; and LOVE it!

In the Food Inc. movie that we saw last weekend, they showed inside a chicken house, where the chickens literally could not stand on their own feet because they are genetically modified to have huge breasts. The poor things just flop down and stay there. The farmer who raised them for Tyson was just so fed up with the system that she violated their order to not let cameras in…She is no longer in business, but…also stated that she had become resistant to most antibiotics. The movie is a must-see! We have been lied to as a nation, and the health of people, planet and animals is in great peril!

This is my most recent passion…love the topic! There’s a wealth of Raw Food etc tweeters. Great community uprising via internet!

    Rock.

  4. Ok guys, here my thing on the eatting of Beefs. I believe Cows are probably the most evil bastards roaming this planet. You think Dolphins are bad, just look at a cow, with those blank eyes. They are plotting I tell you… One day they will revolt and kill us all.

It’s them or us Geoff. And I say pass the A-1 Sauce cause I will eat as many of those cud chewing SOBS as I can before they get me….

  5. I’m excited about the Cure for the Run, and think it’s great that you guys are giving back to the community. I’m bugging everyone I can to either join us at the run or to sponsor us, and if there is anything else we can do, don’t hestitate to ask!
