In this hour, again their finest, the guys talk about vaccines, specifically the H1N1. Are you getting it? Will you give it to your children? This week we talked to our pediatrician and maybe Geoff will update you Friday during the live show with what he said.
I’m so full right now. We went to @SeitoSushi with a bunch of twitter folk. If you have twitter, click all of these to follow! It was great seeing and eating with: @bananakin, @somacow, @orlandojamie, @shaanx, @valerieware, @peglegpug, @sirkyle, @terrorandlove, @elross, @mrselross, @evanzan, @iamgonzilla, @nos48too, and of course all the awesome children :). I just want to say, don’t get the H1N1 vaccine. They rushed that one out and I don’t feel that it was fully tested. I remember a report somewhere saying that people that were involved in creating the vaccine wouldn’t take it themselves. That is enough for me to be leery of it if nothing else.
My daughter and myself both had the swine flu. Yes, we were sick. She had a fever for a couple days and missed a few days of school. I think I had a fever at some point and well, worked through it. It’s really not that bad. I didn’t even realize that I had swine flu until I got my daughter sick and she went to the doctor. My son did not get it from us, but he now has had the regular old flu (doctor tested and all) for the last few days and seems to be so much more ill then we were.
One thing that I can say about the swine flu is that it does seem to be transferred a lot easier. I had it and then everyone in my surrounding area at work had it too. I don’t think there was one person within a couple cubes of me or someone that I interact with that didn’t end up sick in the next week. Maybe that is what the hubbub is all about, and why the CDC is freaking out. I got it though, didn’t even get Tamiflu, and I was still fine in a couple days.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is, let her get sick. Her body will build up the antibodies and she will be fine in a couple days. I personally think it’s better then putting something in her body that might not have been fully tested and rushed to the market, because of the hini flu scare.
I will now return to the corner with my tin foil hat, thank you.
