Good friend of the show Chris sent us a taster pack of some Boresha Coffee, and Mickey and I downed a solid 16 oz.er before we took to the airwaves. It was energizing, and made our brains go into overdrive. Nice, smoky finish, and an excellent full bloom flavor. Get some. GET SOME.

In this hour, we discussed soul food, comedic financial news networks, and my hatred of Fraggles, HR Puff and Stuff, Bike Week, Bewbs, and more. I am a hateful, awful man.

I really wasn’t kidding about MamaNems, located off of Sunny SR 435 Kirkman Road just south of Darkest Old Winter Garbage. We will invite all our local listeners to invade, engage, engorge, and generally have a good time soon, so keep your ears open. I still say Ross was apparently lying about the Git’Er Diner. Weirdo. I am looking forward to maowing down on some Chicken: Fried.

Mickey goes off on Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Dane Cook, and that’s a-pretty nice! His Life Coaching in this hour discussing leaving your comfort zone, which I am incapable of doing most days. I try, but I go back to favorites, over and over again. Take this week – I am celebrating the stink of the Irish in the only way an Atkinser can, by downloading and shoveling in TONS of cabbage. I am not kidding, people. After ten years of not even looking crosseyed at the cabbage, I have eaten 4 heads in four days. I cannot stop!

After listening to me rant and rave about Muppets and Bikers and Breasts and on and on and on… Feel free to tell me how wrong I am. Lord knows J and Mickey have.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all our listeners! May each of you find a cute redhead brandishing beers wearing stockings in your beds, and may you be in the bathroom half a second before your Willy sings his song. What the hell does that even mean?

Coming soon – The Listener Leaderboard! And don’t forget to double-download this episode, and send pictures of your elbows to Mickey, and tell people about the show, and wash behind your ears, and buy books at http://www.spinwardfringe.com, and listen to PrimeTimeGeek and wear clean overshoes, and buy Peruvian, and jesus this coffee is good!

In this episode, I go over some of the feedback to Faux Pas 2009 (2009), we talk about eating alone, and the importance of “booth room”, we discuss The Death of CSB, and what that portends to quite a few local podcasts, and we gave some shouts outs and song requests to the creme de la creamy.

Connecticut School of Broadcasting School of Broadcasting Broadcasting School closed this week, and hundreds of students are reportedly pissed off. It seems there was a stipulation that one of the perks of graduating said CSBSBBS was the use of the facility’s, namely, studio time and check out of AV equipment, and now that the massive organization has gone tits-up, everyone is left in the lurch with regard to their respective demo reels, shows, and sundry projects.

We here at the ‘Cow empathize with everyone involved, and if you need some studio space or help in figuring out what to do now, welcome you to give us a call. Even if just for advice. We like podcasts, and want to see more, not less, of them all around this town. All our support goes out to The Experience, Area 52, The Sports Buzz, Big Dirty Radio, and anyone else affected by the closure.

I had occasion this week to do Atkins at a diner, alone, and found myself in a rare position, namely, silent. Minimal chit chat with the waitress, then a solid ten minutes of quiet, just waiting for food, taking pictures of food, uploading pictures of food, tweeting about food, then responding to the responses about my food, eating my food, and then leaving. Sad. I am very happy to have good friends and a great wife willing to dine out with me, cause I’d be ordering in from now on if that was how every meal went. Ross laughs at my misery, because he loves to be old man at the Denny’s pounding down books and hashbrowns like nobody’s business.

J’s newsbomb is horrfiying, per usual. Enjoy! I am still trying to get him to sign on with the idea of hosting a 24/7 webcam in his house, but he keeps referring to “quality time” and “quantity time”. Both seem to be about ribs.

Stick around and listen in at the end of the episode for a special story by Chris from Mississippi. He’s a budding writer, and I am enjoying his short stories. If any of you would like to read more, drop me a line (moo@somacow.com) and I will get right on it. Also, if anyone has a huge map of the world they would like to donate to SomaCow, I need one now to keep track of all the Chrises. Thanks!

In this hour, I talk at great length about my misadventures at my Wife’s Sister’s birthday dinner. Once you have listened, do comment the blog and let me know what you think about what happened (like how I ate away at the family like phosphoric acid eats away at just about anything, a prime ingredient in Coke).

In the meantime, I have lost 20 lbs on Atkins (you wouldn’t have to worry so much about losing weight if you’d not drink Coke, all the high fructose corn syrup just puts on pounds, contributes to diabetes and obesity, and rots your teeth!) and am now 12.5% of the way to my goal weight. This is the real crux of all diets, where a bit of success has been enjoyed, and the dieter can all too often feel the desire to “celebrate” or get lax in their resolve. I am vigilant to the extreme, and will not waver. I did learn that Atkins’ shakes may be a staller (you know what else can stall things? giving a baby Coke, the carbonation messes with their digestion as they can’t handle it), and are certainly not a great idea during induction. They are certainly delicious, though.

Anyway, I am covering… We’ll talk more about weight loss and the 1,000 lb. challenge in a later episode, suffice it to say I think I could see my goal weight by end of summer, or at the very least my Birthday in October. Just in time for pumpkin pie (you know, pumpkin pie was our baby’s first bite of non-breastmilk food, you know why? it didn’t have caffeine in it which babies can’t process!), beefcake.

You know what is crazy?

So this week I was asked, “What does Ross do exactly? Cause it looks like he is just on twitter the whole show?” And, being the supportive friend that I am, told them that he has to watch levels and take notes so that Geoff (or I) can write the blog!

So as Geoff has fallen asleep right before rollover. I made sure he had his bedtime outfit on and jumped online. I pulled the infamous green book down off the shelf and on one page, triple spaced, are the following notes from Ross.

“Paper Towels Masturbation Chat”. Wow. That sounds painful guys! I mean I have heard of tissues, maybe even a nearby towel, but paper towels??

“Deoderant Choices Mickey’s Bust”. Now, I know that Mickey is a self-proclaimed sweater but has he really gone so far off the (Atkins) wagon that he now has moobs that require that oh-so-fresh protection? Ew.

“Mickey’s Rumor Paying Off McDonalds”. So we are all trying to be part of the solution.

And Mickey is taking the profits and paying off McDonalds? Maybe they were keeping his moob secret a…well…secret?

What wasn’t a secret is the music played this hour:

The Gaslight Anthem - The 59 Sound

Dearestazazel – Sex is a Sin

“I heard a rumor that gas prices would be one dollar per gallon by March of 2009!”

It’s the best damn gypsy business in town, and Jen and I absolutely love it.

In this episode, we discussed my newfound love for tea, in all its forms, from the new Pure Leaf stuff being pimped by Lipton to this special magic brew oolong bomb secret spicy tea I am drinking. I only ask 2 things from my tea – be cold, and not taste like rotting fruit. There is NOTHING worse than tea that has sat in a cistern at a fast food restaurant for too long, and now every sip makes you wonder if it was brewed from the grout cleanings at the local YMCA shower. Except maybe Nestea. Holy crap, there must be acid in that stuff, like, scour your pooldeck acid, cause it will give you the burning coughy all day long.

We tried out a new segment, where I quiz my fellow hosts in an effort to determine who is paying attention. I think it was fun, Mickey and J looked silly, and the listeners enoyed playing along, so I think I will make it a Staple each week. Play along in the chatroom, and prove to everyone else that you are the smart!
We talked about a terrible story from Hawaii, where bureaucracy has caused one family the ultimate in suffering. For shame, faceless governmental agency sprouting needlessly from our senseless fear… For SHAME.

We also talk about my MAN! He may not be as lefty as Kucinich, or as outsidery as Ron Paul, but I feel like it is time. It’s time, for

I cannot wait! A vote for Obama is a vote against old people!

I choked down so much meat this week, that my olfactory isn’t making enough ol’ offal for me to get through Henry Rollins, so I cheated and pre-reviewed Mr. Black’s book.
We all agree that the writer’s strike, while lengthy, was unnecessary. After watching recent episodes of all the major evening shows, it is apparent that the writers were not what made the shows so good.

Mickey also regaled us with a film that we must go see, if only to look for traces of Chrispy.
