You know, there is so much going on right now so I’m going to take this time to highlight a couple things that are going on and maybe clear out my head.

You may have heard of this little thing we’re doing called the Cure for the Run? Well, it’s finally here! This Saturday we are doing it! Anyone in the Central Florida area (or wanting to visit said area) please come on down! We have an awesome time set up and the free 3 Olives drink is always a plus. We’re doing this all for Rock For Hunger. We’ll have water stations, local celebrities, a raffle, special prizes, and great company.

Have you seen our TV promo about it? You can here!

If you can’t be there but would like to make a donation, please do so at either the site or straight via paypal to somacow@gmail.com and either way just mention the Run or “donation”.

And our good friend Peglegpug is planning a “sweetup” which, if you aren’t aware, is a sweets tweetup! If you don’t know what that is, join twitter, follow me (@comasowjen) and I’ll explain. It’s looking like our good friends at Winter Park Photography are going to do the hosting for this sweet sweet get together.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, after you listen to this episode of SomaCow, get up and do something. Preferably, get up and do something with us!

I am often amazed at the power and freedom enjoyed by us Merrikans. We have the ability to host a show out of my freaking HOUSE, beaming our thoughts and ideas at the speed of cat to the massive masses, speaking freely about any topic we wish. We can discuss history without bias, the state of the government, potential corruption in seats of power, the fallacy of religion, the miracles of science, we can spread love and respect for our fellow man, help the weak become strong, give the little guy a leg up, and vanquish the oppresors. Imagine if we had these abilities during each major revolution, under Pharoah, under the rule of Stalin, or even Hitler?

We used our powers in this hour to discuss… Television. Specifically, what I watch.

I would talk more, but I have 7 Top Chefs and 2 episodes of Torchwood to catch up on, and that doesn’t even touch seeing this week’s Obsessed. CanNOT get enough of that show!

What do you watch?

It wasn’t JUST TV talk, honestly. We enjoy a call in from resident word architect Randolph LaLonde after the :40, and he gives us some insight into storycrafting, sci fi style. I invite you to listen in, and check out his word at http://www.spinwardfringe.com

And is it Science Fiction, or sci fi, people. I will never understand what the hell that Syfy crap is being foisted on the public. Asimov would so kick your ass if he saw that.

Siffy? Sighphee? Whatever.
Cure for the Run is in less than a month – Help us do good for Rock for Hunger, with cash, or your volunteering of time flogging the dolphin!

In this hour, we discuss Mickey’s weight loss, our friend djgra(e)y who just went Vegan, and our standard manly segments. Please ignore anything I say in this hour re: Roman Candles. Yech!

I spent so much time whining about doe-eyed beef that I feel sorta dumb, sitting here eating beef lo mein. God, is it delicious. Silken noodle strands, cascading in a curtain of carbocity over tender, massive morsels of well crisped carne. Yum yum yum.

This is me, and I am a pig. And that is why we of SomaCow are doing The Cure for the Run. With what we smoke, ingest, imbibe, and avoid (exercise), we know we cannot run a 5k.

Even a 0.5k sounds lengthy. I mean, that’s like a half of a half of a mile.

But a 0.05k? We are DOWN for that.

There is a website with all the info at http://curefortherun.com

There is a facebook group event where you can find other participants.

There is very little time remaining. Get your forms, let us know you are coming, and start bugging your family, friends, coworkers, passers-by, and anyone you encounter to either come, or sponsor your run. If you can find 10 people to sponsor you 10 cents a meter, that’s 50 dollars raised for Rock for Hunger right there!

It’s a worthy cause, and if you participate, Wall Street’s WaiTiki Lounge will give you a free drink (3-olives vodka style!)

Thank you for all your help, and please email me geoff@somacow.com with any questions.

In this hour, Mickey has a story that he never gets to, Ryan of the Sports Buzz now 1400 AM in Ft Walton Beach (they don’t have a website that I see? Mickey, get on that!) gives us a farewell ring, and we discussing the finer points of dating and headlights. It’s mantastic. You guys get a chance, go wish Ryan good luck in his new digs. We hope he takes the broadcasting world by storm. And stuff like that!

I was thinking the other day of all the people I’ve met since starting this endeavor with my good friend, Mickey. The guy with the giant goldfish, the articulate, clean, and bright Josh and CJ of the Aftermath, the singer turned brooder turned host turned ghost turned Xander of the Lunar Room, Eric the incredibly tall and neat, Lauren of Rock, Ryan the Bonifant, and his hirsute friend Todd, Gary, Brian and CR and Nova and those other chicks that come around from time to time with the Anime Boobs, The Almighty Felix Who is Not Con But Likes Karaoke, and on and on and on.

Some successes, some disappearances, and a crapton of recorded audio. I’ve enjoyed it, and I look forward to our new beginnings. August will be the month of our new studio opening, our first big event, The 0.05K Cure for the Run, and a host of other changes and improvements round heah.

I am happy to have such friends as I do to share in all this. Thank you, Mickey, J, and Ross, for all that you do. Even you, J. You big old queen.

In this hour, we discussed charity, kung fu, and the Chinee Zodiac. Listen, enjoy, and I will have some information on how you can help SomaCow make a whizbang holiday for some lucky family.

In the meantime, I would like to provide you with your horoscope, Neat-Chi Long Style!

There are 4 elements in Chinee Zodiac -

Sizzly – People born under this sign are universally hot to trot, and frequently suffer from fever blisters, itchy bits, and multiple offspring. Their rhetoric is fiery, but quickly runs out of substance and must be added to keep the action going. Ross is very sizzly.

Dippy – Folks governed by this sign are remarkably tasty, creamy, and smooth. They have rich, buttery voices, deep, darkened, honeyed features, and are essentially just waiting to accept what you have to say, provided they can cover it with their own ideas and somewhat sickly-sweet take. J is so Dippy, it’s whack.

Choppy – These people are just plain to the QUICK, yo. Without regard for life or limb, they attack the problem head on, or rather, sidelong, as they wick away layer after layer in a clatter of metal and spark and sinew. Sure, some people get hurt, and yeah, not every bit that lies now asunder was necessarily ready to be cooked. But the F^%$ing thing is CHOPPED. Mickey is known to wield a knife or three, when TCTHID lets him.

Skewery – These people are perfect in every way. Plump, succulent, ready for consumption. All they require, sadly, is a means of deployment. A spine, if you will. They must have the assistance of a strong sliver of wood to uphold their edicts, scribe their thoughts, and carry them to bed for scratchies at night. I have no idea who resides under this element. Maybe Jen knows.

I will be back with a blog for the 12 signs, as soon as we have 12 listeners. HA!

Hey – Check out Greg Rollet’s page – Dude has some real sense, especially when it comes to New Media and getting your band noticed in an ever wider talent stream!

Also, feel free to comment here with your Kung Fu must sees – I will be collecting the top 10 as listed by you, so, get to, Yu.

If you are only going to do one good thing in your life, let us make a strong pleas that that one thing be helping out a worthy cause like Rock For Hunger.

Sizzly - People born under this sign are universally hot to trot, and frequently suffer from fever blisters, itchy bits, and multiple offspring. Their rhetoric is fiery, but quickly runs out of substance and must be added to keep the action going. Ross is very sizzly.

Dippy - Folks governed by this sign are remarkably tasty, creamy, and smooth. They have rich, buttery voices, deep, darkened, honeyed features, and are essentially just waiting to accept what you have to say, provided they can cover it with their own ideas and somewhat sickly-sweet take. J is so Dippy, it's whack.
