In this hour, we discussed our respective Thanksgiving Aftermaths, Tall People, Aldi? (WTF is an Aldi?), and the Terrible Tantrum of Mumbai.

Hopefully you all ate well, lord knows we did, as SomaCow Media was directly responsible for the killing and eating of 13 Turkeys, 14 Stuffing-Sharks (You never knew stuffing came from sharks? Hell of a thing, isn’t it?), and an entire cranberry vein from the cranberry mines of Cranbertania. I have no idea what I am talking about. The gravy has made me mad.

My kid bounces in her bouncy seat now, thanks to Mickey’s son’s tutelage in all things bouncy. We stare at her for hours, leaping and cavorting to some incredibly fast inner beat. It’s funnier every time. I want an adult bouncy seat, damnit.

There is a new grocery store here in town, goes by the name of Aldi (All dee, or Al digh?). Consensus seems to be that it is a German company with euro brand goods, better than sav-a-lot but not, say, Albertson’s. I am just glad someone is using the dying space available in all our shopping centers. Plus, when you think about it, it makes sense for people in Europe to be making money off of feeding us here in the US, what with the lack of agriculture here in America. Huh?

We rounded out the hour talking about the you-know-whos, who have once again shat the global punchbowl and brought fire, fear, and fanaticism to the shindig. I won’t waste penspace and font here recalling the details, seeing as CNN has spent the week gorging themselves off the sorrow of families aplenty. Just heed my words in the show, and let’s be consistent in our upbringing of the poor, retarded child that is Islam.

Seriously, whose idea was it to have SomaCow’s finest hour go up on Fridays? That means that the blog has to be written on Thursday which means it has to be written every Thanksgiving night which means that Geoff is full and sleepy, I’m full and sleepy, Mickey is probably full and sleepy, unless he is back on the Atkins, which means that this blog will be short and sweet.

The third hour this week, their finest, they discussed Rock Band. Mickey has it, we play it, we now live and sleep it. Seriously, we were driving home from Clearwater and Geoff was playing the bass to Green Day and System of a Down (the Rock Band bass) and I was moving my fingers along like they would look on the screen for the lead singer. Rowan was doing the driving.

It’s an awesome game even if my 20 year-old nephew thinks it’s lame because he plays the actual drums. Eh, kids these days. They need to learn to let go man, learn to fly. It’s the hardest thing.

In this hour, we gave thanks, mocked Twilight, and chatted up a good friend of the show, even if he is a Ginger.

I would prattle on here about family, and friends, and all that jazz, but the fact of the matter is I am in Fatty Free Fall, and feel that only through confession can I stop, or even staunch, my constant hunger.

In the last 4 days, I have eaten 3 ribeye steaks, 2 lbs of potato salad, a giant order of the new buttload of nacho nachos from Taco Bell, a giant plate of Scallopene Piccata, 6 Eggs, 4 slices of bacon, 4 pieces of toast, 4 sausages, 2 orders of hashbrowns, 4 more slices of bacon(seconds, bitch), 3 Ommegang beers, a massive order of double beef medium pad thai, at LEAST 4 dozen shrimp, a bag of cape cod potato chips, 2 packages of Ritter Sport candy, a bowl of cocoa puffs (and I don’t even LIKE cocoa puffs) 4 handfuls of chili con carne popcorn, half a pound cake (that’s half a pound of butter, half a pound of sugar, and half a pound of flour), 90+ cashews, heavily salted, 2 gallons of milk, 4 coronas, an order of potstickers, an order of ribs, a chicken sandwich (there must, always, be a chicken sandwich), 2 champ burgers, lemon scallops with brown rice, 5 budweisers, 2 double decker tacos, 1 seven layer burrito, half a pint of ice cream, a gallon of tea, a doughnut, 4 pots worth of coffee…

Round here… It’s just called “gettin’ ready for Thanksgiving”.

Or, you know, a myocardial infarction.

Before we go eat massive amounts of food, let us leave you with the true meaning of Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown… a story from a wonderful lady we call Franni the Lunchlady:

I was the child of very old parents, Mom being 48 and Daddy being 53 when I was born. I can remember being rustled out of bed in what seemed like the middle of the night. Wrapped in blankets my sister and I were put in the back of the Rambler stationwagon. When I woke up it was daylight and we were at my brother Bob’s house. Bob was born when my folks first got married, 28 years before me. I ran around with his 5 kids, all of us in our jammies, watching the Macy’s parade on TV when an interesting float or balloon came on. Other cousins, aunts & uncles were also there, it was quite the full house.

Then we got our faces washed and our Sunday clothes on and we sang for our supper. Each of us had to sing or recite some kind of Thanksgiving thing. The last year both my folks were alive, I was in 1st grade. Daddy came up with a song for me to sing that year. He and I practiced it for weeks, it was going to be the showstopper, he said. So when the day came and then my turn came, I stood up on the foot stool and belted this out (to the tune of “Ta-ra-ra-boom-de-aye”)

Happy Thanksgiving Time,

There’s lots of food to eat, And lots of folks to greet.

We’re really thankful that,
We’re getting nice and fat.
We cannot eat no more, Please roll us out the door!

What the hell is going on in this image? Why is a child of darker color being groped by a fat, sausage fingered yellow man? Why is all of this taking place inside of a smurfian house? Does anything about this image evoke “safety”, “security”, or even sanity? I guess it IS an accurate sign, in that the first thing I think of when I view it is “Drop off your black children here so they can be eaten by a giant fat ghost man with rubbery hands and jaundice.”

Now that I think about it, is pretty much what government is for.

And what is with the little SM on the sign? A special Sado-Masochism marking?

I have been out of focus all week. I blame the upcoming feasts.

Now I know what you are saying…what’s new? Well this one is about the best meal all year, Thanksgiving! Of course the guys put their own spin on it. We’ve all heard of baked turkey, smoked turkey, even fried turkey but there are so many other ways!

Most well read people (i.e. not J) have heard of Turducken but how about bacon wrapped turkey? Seriously! Yum…

We talked about the impending disaster set to sweep America away in a rising tide of… Gravy. Or something. It’s all greek to me, because now that the right wingers and the White House are on board with this whole global warming thing, I am no longer sure it is relevant, pertinent, or salisbury.

So, we try to clean up our act in this episode, as we want to be able to provide you, dear listener, with the best possible auditory and entertainment experience while still getting paid. In order to do that, we have to stop chasing off advertisers with our foul, foul language.

And really the show has become something of a sleaze pit, with Mickey scrawling LOLcat-sailorspeak all over the bathroom walls, J dropping all kinds of Shakespearian insults at people during the smoke breaks (he actually called me a base-faced eater of broken meats… what does that even MEAN?) and my standard operating procedure of hyphen-the-motherfuck-ating words that should not be hyphenated… It’s just not civil anymore, you know?

So, presumably, we will now be paying a listener every time we swear. Or they will be paying us. I am not sure, because there was a honeybaked ham on the premises during the show, and I really cannot focus when such temptations lay about.
