SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you in this hour by Chris P For President. It’s the straight up biscuits, served by a man we love and… umm… know.

295

In this episode, I go over some of the feedback to Faux Pas 2009 (2009), we talk about eating alone, and the importance of “booth room”, we discuss The Death of CSB, and what that portends to quite a few local podcasts, and we gave some shouts outs and song requests to the creme de la creamy.

Connecticut School of Broadcasting School of Broadcasting Broadcasting School closed this week, and hundreds of students are reportedly pissed off. It seems there was a stipulation that one of the perks of graduating said CSBSBBS was the use of the facility’s, namely, studio time and check out of AV equipment, and now that the massive organization has gone tits-up, everyone is left in the lurch with regard to their respective demo reels, shows, and sundry projects.

We here at the ‘Cow empathize with everyone involved, and if you need some studio space or help in figuring out what to do now, welcome you to give us a call. Even if just for advice. We like podcasts, and want to see more, not less, of them all around this town. All our support goes out to The Experience, Area 52, The Sports Buzz, Big Dirty Radio, and anyone else affected by the closure.

I had occasion this week to do Atkins at a diner, alone, and found myself in a rare position, namely, silent. Minimal chit chat with the waitress, then a solid ten minutes of quiet, just waiting for food, taking pictures of food, uploading pictures of food, tweeting about food, then responding to the responses about my food, eating my food, and then leaving. Sad. I am very happy to have good friends and a great wife willing to dine out with me, cause I’d be ordering in from now on if that was how every meal went. Ross laughs at my misery, because he loves to be old man at the Denny’s pounding down books and hashbrowns like nobody’s business.

J’s newsbomb is horrfiying, per usual. Enjoy! I am still trying to get him to sign on with the idea of hosting a 24/7 webcam in his house, but he keeps referring to “quality time” and “quantity time”. Both seem to be about ribs.

Stick around and listen in at the end of the episode for a special story by Chris from Mississippi. He’s a budding writer, and I am enjoying his short stories. If any of you would like to read more, drop me a line (moo@somacow.com) and I will get right on it. Also, if anyone has a huge map of the world they would like to donate to SomaCow, I need one now to keep track of all the Chrises. Thanks!

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you this week by Tylenol in all its forms.

278

In this, our middle hour, we discussed the germs that Mickey brought into the studio. Now we can’t blame him for sure on our current situation (read 3 people hopped up on Tylenol and Nyquil alternating between hot and cold). I mean Brian from JPP came in sick, The Sports Buzz’s Ryan had a sniffle…Felix might have had a virus…

Speaking of viri, we seem to have had one infect the studio. How do we find out where it came from? Luckily it was easy to get rid of but what a pain, still!

So here we sit, snot rags all around, blankets covering our naked bodies because it will just get hot again soon, but hey, we aren’t eating so 1000 pound challenge here we come!

In fact I’m starting to get a little hungry but the only thing in our fridge is the Velvet Duck we  had the other night. Holy crap! Maybe we have Avian Bird Flu from the Velvet Duck! (That’s Geoff current theory at least-yeah, feverish)

You all stay healthy so you can join us for ComaSow live Wednesday! (hey, it was the only show that didn’t get a plug yet)

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you by SomaCow.net

When reviewing the notes from this episode, I was greeted with the following notes: “Mickey wants to bang Oprah, Geoff’s sack and the shaving thereof, Jen calls…again…”

Wow, I don’t know that there is that much more I can say about those that listening yourself won’t take care of!

There are a few things I feel I must tell you, though. First, we are taking nominations for Listener of the Year-2008. You can nominate someone (or yourself) here on our forums!

Also, Geoff reviewed a fantastic book that he recommends to all-no matter what your beliefs. Even though it was written a few years ago and he’s read it a few times, it still gets him riled up over what is going on out there.

And to update you on the SomaCow Media doings of 2009…

SomaCow is still going strong on Friday nights (live) for 3 hours (7-10 Eastern)! Join us!

Saturdays now showcase Prime Time Geek (PTG) live from 8-10 Eastern. Their first show with SCM was last week and Felix had a great reception. Join us again this week!

On Sundays, The Sports Buzz still continues to discuss the hot sports topics of the day. This week join Ryan and special guest Luke sitting in for Todd, from 6-8 Eastern.

Just Push Play continues to entertain with Brian (titsMagee), CR, and Nova on their new night of Mondays from 8-10 PM Eastern.

And expecting to start this week, Wednesday?, is the return of ComaSow with Geoff and Jen! We’ll be reviewing new bands sent in to us as well as show you all a little glimpse into our crazy life. Check out the site for details on time!

Thank you all for an unbelievable 2008! We are looking forward to an even better 2009.

Jen
